I had the pleasure of photographing Ceci when she was born. in fact, she was only my second newborn session ever! LOL. I love their parents for the immense trust they place on me. Then, thru the years, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing other events, like her first birthday, christmas portraits, pumpkin patch fun, and even an extended family portrait session. But I have to say, photographing Violet’s first birthday, along her sister, is by far my favorite session with the girls so far. When their mom contacted me for a first birthday photo session, I immediately thought cake smash, balloons, and props. But Holly had something else in mind. And I totally respect the wishes of my clients, since this is for them after all, to treasure, frame and look at for years to come. Holly asked if we could do some simple, candid portraits of the girls, just being themselves. And I thought, Of course! That sounds more ideal than any cake smash session I’ve ever done! So I brought nothing with me to the session, other than a neutral blanket (because kids hate sitting on grass) and I just happened to have a flower crown in my car. And it was all that was needed to create magic right before my very eyes. The girls acted like sisters, and mom was happy. And I was beyond in love with the session…and you can see why:
Till next time, Ceci & Violet!
